Spring = Romance!

My good friend Ms. Amanda has been wanting to have engagement style photos taken with her hubby of 2 years. When they got married, they didn't have a big wedding, so they didn't have any engagement photos taken. I can totally relate! This gorgeous weather can't help but inspire romance, the perfect setting for a couple's portrait session!

Amanda and Logan are both Air Force Ssgts. The photo on the left is one of my favorites from the shoot, it completely represents them both as individuals and a couple. Their shoes are such a portrait of their personalities! I wanted this session to be a celebration of their marriage. Not only of the love they share now, but their entire relationship. The USAF plane represents the fact that they met through the AF. If not for both of their selfless decision to enlist to protect our country, they would have never met. I just love that fate brought them together. They really are soul mates!

I feel so lucky to know Amanda and Logan and be a part of their lives. Their story is really amazing. They have spent more than half of their marriage apart,
but their marriage is as strong as ever.

I have to add this last one, because it is a very personal moment I captured. They touch each other on the nose as an "I love you" gesture. I have never seen anyone do that. We were setting up for a shot when I saw this exchange and just had to capture it!

Daydreaming about Daddy

My son has been missing his daddy. He has a 'thing' with airplanes, he LOVES them. Every base we have lived at he has a plane that he claims to be his. Then he assigns one to me, and one to his daddy. Today we visited Daddy's Plane and took pictures to let daddy know we are missing him and thinking about him.

I kind of hate these photos! He looks too handsome and too grown up! My little boy isn't little anymore! These almost look like senior photos to me. I told him to stop growing up.
He just laughed.

We'll see you soon, Daddy!

Fields in Bloom

What a difference a day makes! Especially in Nebraska! We went to an Easter egg hunt the Saturday before Easter, the weather was freezing cold! We are miserable and pale and runny nosed, but my sweet son agreed to take a couple of photos to send to daddy on the way home.

The following day, Easter, it was 59 degrees and sunny. It was almost too warm in the direct sun. Perfect for photos! We got dressed up, appropriately this time for spring photos, and went back to this magical field full of flowers.

Jonathan was such a good model today! Usually he doesn't like having his picture taken, but he was a good model for about an hour! I think maybe he is getting used to the idea of having his photos taken all the time- or he was replaced by an alien!

I always had a fantasy of laying in flowers like this when I was a little girl- disappearing in them like Alice in Wonderland. Can I just say that I am jealous of my son in this photo! Can I get an "Amen" ladies?

This one isn't particularly that wonderful, artistically, but he looks so much like his daddy that I had to add it in at the end.

I am going back to this field this week for a few more sessions. I hope to see you there!
